Anna Had Recent Surgery

Anna Nicole Smith with Danielynn tattooMSNBC's Rita Cosby reports that Anna Nicole may have had recent breast surgery to repair one of her implants.

Cosby also reports the former Playmate had also been prescribed over 10 different types of pain medication, and may have been taking excessive amounts because she developed a tolerance to the effects.

In addition, Cosby's sources tell her that Anna Nicole was found by a member of her staff -- unresponsive and nude in her bed, with a sheet pulled over her face.

Death from cosmetic plastic surgeries occurs in one out of 57,000 cases, per the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Two million plastic surgeries were performed in the United States in 2005.

Adverse reactions to surgery could become serious; there are numerous documented cases of seizures, heart attacks and high fevers leading to death. Recent published research shows that inflammation caused by common respiratory and urinary tract infections like bronchitis, pneumonia and cystitis, may contribute to in increased risk of heart attack and stroke, and the greatest risk is in the earliest stages of infection.

If Anna did have a recent cosmetic procedure, and she exhibited "flu like symptoms" over the last few days, it's quite possible that the star died of a massive infection, perhaps complicated by an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

" AUSSIE BUDGET BEAUTY SECRETS"

While America is in the middle of its winter, in Australia we are literally melting in the hot sun. But regardless of where we are, we are all interested in stretching our beauty budget. What is the best way to do this? By purchasing products that can be used in a whole host of ways. Thankfully these days the 2-in-1 products are more and more common. However following are a few tips that will make your cosmetics purchases more economical. This week we learn beauty tips from down under from Australian Beauty Expert Livia Mercer.

Tinted Moisturizer

If there was one product that I would consider a bare essential, it would be a Tinted Moisturizer. Not only does this product cut down on makeup application time but is great to give you a very natural and healthy glow without a heavy made-up look. For winter use this over your regular moisturiser and it will prolong the hydration of your skin. For summer use this on its own and it will cut down on the shine factor.

Lip Pencils

Invest in a Lip-Coloured Lip Pencil. There is no need to buy a lip pencil to match each of your lipsticks, just buy one good quality pencil that matches your lip colour. Trust me; this will become the most versatile product you will own. Use it all over your lips when you are out of your favourite nude matt lipstick or apply clear gloss over the top of it for that killer shiny pout. Line your lips with it under any colour lipstick and it will never change the colour, or use it as a barrier to stop gloss from bleeding.

Lip Balm

Have on hand a clear Lip Balm at all times. Not only is this great when you have chapped lips, but it’s also great to double as an illuminator on your cheeks. After a glossy eye shadow? Simply mix your favourite powder shadow with a bit of lip balm and you’ve got an easy to apply gloss formula. Don’t have a blush on hand? Apply a bit of lipstick to the back of your hand, mix it with a bit of lip balm and apply it to your cheeks as a cream blush. And of course it is fabulous over the top of your favourite matt lipstick to give it a subtle shine. Carmex, one of TBF’s four Great Budget Lip Products is a great lip balm that heals dry chapped winter lips.

Mascara

It is worth the outlay for a good quality Mascara that is a do-it-all. The most important thing you want your mascara to accomplish is to open up and highlight the eyes by lengthening and thickening your lashes. Choose a dark brown shade unless you have black hair. Dark brown suits all complexions and it won’t overwhelm your makeup. It will also go from day to night easily and also doubles as an eyebrow fixer.

To add extra drama to your lashes grab a disposable mascara wand and after you have applied mascara to it, run it along a shimmery eye shadow powder. Apply this to the tips of your lashes for an amazing evening look.

THE OLE BALL & CHAIN.

In my Jalouse post I showed you a ball and chain necklace – well that pesky necklace refuses to leave my head. I want a ball and chain – no, not a wife – the necklace ball and chain.

Of course such heavy duty neckwear usually comes with an equally heavy duty price tag….unless you use the power of improvisation. A tight budget can bring out such skills in a gal. So I set myself and Queen Marie a mission today to find some statement jewellery whilst we took a jolly to the shops, leaving my Prince at home full of the joys of Kevin Saunderson.

As we stalked the usual suspects and some not-so-usual suspects, we fell upon this fabulous long necklace with a big ball on the end in Miss Selfridge (a definite not-so-usual suspect). The cogs ticked in my little head and we set about finding a chunky short chain – I would simply whisk the ball off one and shove it on the other. Zoot Aleurs! (I have no idea what that means, I don’t recall Thierry ever discussing the phrase zoot aleurs, but I know it’s French).

So in a quick Blue Peter moment I take two necklaces:

Take them apart and make one big necklace!

P Diddy would be so proud right now.

EXERCISE IN STYLE AND COMFORT...

Our work-out clothes are an aspect of our wardrobe that we often neglect, but you should look and feel fabulous while exercising. While few people feel their best wearing lycra from head to toe, substituting worn, stained and stretched t-shirts is not the answer. Cotton is a bad idea – it holds water while you sweat in temperatures that are cooler than your body temperature. You need clothing that keeps you dry when you perspire. The answer is to invest in the proper gear from authentic sports brands, and to wear it when you work out. Here are a few ideas to help you feel better in your workout clothes:

Longer length tops – wear a longer top when you wear lycra from head-to-toe. Cycling shops specialize in these and you won’t have that dreaded draft up your back while you’re touching your toes. Layer – pop a shorter sleeveless lycra or spandex blend top over your longer length one. The interest of the extra layer is slimming. Half lycra and half not – if you still feel that you can’t sport the all-lycra-look, go half way. Wear a tank top and sports bra with baggy running shorts or athletic bottoms; or a sporty form-fitting t-shirt (layer if you need to) with lycra or yoga pants.

Try and get your mind around feeling self conscious in your exercise clothes. Good for you that you’re getting your bottom into gear! Being healthy definitely increases your style quotient.

A mix-and-match story from Lucy: longer length tank, layering T’s, track top, athletic bottoms, running shorts, and lycra shorts.
