Myspace Magazine - Anna Nicole’s Sister is - Well… Just Like Mommy

Tags:
@ 05:55 AM (16 months, 23 days ago)

For the most part, I’ve felt a great deal of sorrow for Anna Nicole Smith these past several months. Especially with how horribly she’s been disrespected by everyone she trusted, especially from the very people she should be able to trust. Now we find her sister, who’s in the ranks of mother, Virgie Arthur.

quote-picAnna Nicole’s sister Donna Hogan - same white-blond hair, industrial- strength eye and lip makeup, ample bosom, low-cut top, but drinking only Sprite - said:

“It pisses me off when people say I’m making money off her. I was offered fortunes to tell on her. I was there when she did liposuction in the ’90s. I have pictures of her lipo. Even though I needed money bad, I never sold her out.”

Anna Nicole Smith's Sister - Donna Hogan - PICSo, OK, so Donna, hon, so then why “Train Wreck,” your new book about and against Anna?

“Because I was hurt. Because it’s closure for me. Because now she’s gone, and things about her upsetted me. She was selfish. I always respected her, and she always disrespected me. I was struggling. I had to live in a shelter to protect my three kids and I never asked her for nothing. She had four houses and never offered me one to stay in. I bought her a Marilyn Monroe doll and she never bought me a thing. She’d take people who worked for her on shopping sprees to Rodeo Drive and never bring my kids anything.

She sounds like an 8 year old fighting over a Barbie®.

“She never once offered me money. Except to try and take my little girl from me. See, even after she had Danny she wanted a girl child desperately. She offered me thousands, but only if I’d give up my baby daughter to her which, of course, I wouldn’t.”

About their similarities: “Well, yeah, I’ve done drugs . . . we’ve both had a wild crazy life . . . both had affairs with women . . . three-way sex . . . kids without husbands . . . and I’m now kind of living with someone . . . And, like her, I worked gentlemen’s clubs. I waitressed. There’s perverts who just want you to get drunk with them. So I’d sit and drink. You could make $2,000 a night.

“Look, I was offered lots of the same kind of stuff she was, but I just couldn’t do it. I think she had some kind of illness. She did it with all sorts of girlfriends and gay boyfriends. I mean, she gave our father - who molested girls and actually touched me - naked photos of herself. This is a man who got married the day after we buried Vickie.

“And she never liked her given name Vickie. In school she’d call herself Nicky, so maybe that’s where Nicole came in.”

Donna Hogan lives in Houston. Her gift baskets business is called Country Delights. Monday was her first moment ever in New York. After dinner she saw Times Square. While asking could she squeeze in a musical like “Mama Mia!” or “The Color Purple” between the 17 shows she’s doing to hustle her book, I was asking her opinion of Howard K. Stern.

“I never believed he was the father of Dannielynn. He couldn’t create a child even if he had two [she used a colorful word to describe male equipment.] He’s not man enough. Anna Nicole Smith led him around by the nose. And can you believe his sister now has a publicist? And wants to be a Dr. Ruth-type TV sex therapist?”

And Donna’s opinion of mother-dearest Virgie?

“Virgie had more media than family at the funeral. Listen, Virgie used to abuse Vickie. Treat her bad. Hit her. When they started Virgie went with her to the strip clubs.

“I never took money from anybody. All the media companies followed me and harassed me and offered big money for my story. I never took a dime. Now, for the funeral and lawyers and traveling around, Virgie has a photo company paying. Howard’s bills are being paid by a TV show. Larry Birkhead probably has some deal, too.”

About larger-than-life Anna Nicole Smith, this sister says: “She actually had nothing. She was always broke. She lost her ranch. She was always getting sued. She went bankrupt. She lost everything. Her life really turned into a train wreck after Howard Marshall. She got depressed. She fought to keep her name alive. She’d suddenly do anything to stay in the spotlight, then the more she got in the spotlight the more she had to do to stay there. And when Stern came into her life she really changed. Everything went downhill.

“Y’know, because of our same father and different mothers, there’s others of us. Like another sister Amy, who’s into modeling and nobody really knows where she is because nobody wants anything to do with her.”

A bite into the Waverly Inn’s soft roll, a sigh about “I really have to lose weight,” and then . . . “I guess the dysfunctionality in our family goes way back.”

And: “I just never want Howard or Virgie to end up with that baby.”

Put it down to another of your usual humdrum ho-hum evenings of nice pleasant boring dinner-table talk. Only in New York, kids, only in New York.

Important Tips of Fashion Style

Tags:
@ 03:44 AM (17 months, 20 days ago)
The term fashion usually applies to a prevailing mode of expression, but quite often applies to a personal mode of expression that may or may not adhere to prevailing ideals. Inherent in the term is the idea that the mode will change more quickly than the culture as a whole. The terms "fashionable" and "unfashionable" are employed to describe whether someone or something fits in with the current popular mode of expression. The term "fashion" is frequently used in a positive sense, as a synonym for glamour and style. In this sense, fashions are a sort of communal art, through which a culture examines its notions of beauty and goodness. The term "fashion" is also sometimes used in a negative sense, as a synonym for fads, trends, and materialism.

Fashion Tips

Make sure your wardrobe has plenty of neutrals on hand - they are perfect for mixing and matching. They can be dressed up or down with the right jewelry additions

Not a one of us woman has the perfect figure. We all have flaws. Accept your flaws and work with them

Know your body and what looks good. You are logically attracted to clothes, styles and colors that flatter your figure. Experiment a bit, and try something a bit off your normal habits

Tailored outfits are flattering to most all figures

Buy styles that flatter your figure and don't forget that finishing touch with your jewelry

To make a short neck look longer wear a sccop neck or open collar shirt, complete the look with a long necklace

Large breasted women and women with wide hips can optain balance by using shoulder pads

Make sure your panty hose fits properly

Don't bare all - leave something for the imagination. Entice with your a glittery necklace or choker, and don't forget the earrings

Leather stretches so if you're buying a leather skirt or pants make sure they are snug when you purchase them. There are also some fabulous faux leather products on the market that can give you great wear for a season or two without having to worry if they'll still fit next year

Dress up your look with glittery jewelry, accent a line with a necklace. Don't forget your earrings and bracelets. They add the finishing touch to your look. You can completely change your look just by changing your jewelry. Dress it up or down!

Your jewelry is the same. That fabulous designer parure that costs way more than you can afford - your certain to find a similar in an online store for much less. Clip the picture and keep it with you so you can match

Set your budget and stick to it. Purchase plenty of mix and match pieces to get the most for your money. And don't forget to complete your look with jewelry.

Zandra Rhodes is on video talking to Damian Barr from the Times in their "Cool In Your Code" feature for Borough, the area in London best known for its market. Rhodes started up the Fashion and Textile Museum in Borough, and also lives in the area. She told Barr some friends of hers saw an old warehouse and said to her "you've always wanted to do museum." She went on: "Style is when you're lucky enough to have something in you that you develop your own sense of originality." The Fashion and Textile Museum features nearly every item of clothing made by Rhodes throughout her career, as well as items from other designers.

Preen for Topshop

Topshop have so many designer labels in at the moment it feels more like a Browns than a high-street store. My first favourite piece in this range is the grey jersey dress (£70); when you can get interesting jersey pieces all over the high street you might not be tempted by this, except for the fact that it's a lot interesting than anything you would usually come across. I also love their wool mix high waisted skirt (£60), I can see it becoming a quirky wardrobe staple. (click on the thumbnail for larger image).

Victoria Beckham Launches Style Website

Tags:
@ 11:21 AM (18 months, 9 days ago)

Has Miss Becks been taking camera tips from the Shiny Fashion TV crew? To coincide with the launch of her new book and a personal appearance at Selfridges during the week, now comes the Victoria Beckham "online style guide" complete with blog! But best of all is VBTV, short video snippets of what we assume will form part of her rumoured new television show. Although we suspect (or rather hope) that her new TV venture won't be all about high-end designers and £50,000 frocks considering she was recently spotted picking up a bargain at an Oxfam shop.

And speaking of Shiny Fashion TV, watch this space for more videos with all the latest and greatest fashion tips and trends hot off the press. Nothing like a bit of healthy competition, eh Vicky..?

Jean Paul Gaultier book

Tags:

jpgbook.jpgIf, like me, you love the genius and eccentricity of Jean Paul Gaultier but have a budget that suits his perfume rather than his couture, £40 for this piece of fashion literature may appease you somewhat. Photographed by Michal Haddi, 'Happy Birthday Glamour Puss! 30 Ans De Jean Paul Gaultier' covers a spectacular party hosted by the designer in Paris last October to celebrate his 30 years in fashion. Packed with the cream of the fashion world plus the odd Hollywood star, it was the party to be seen at and it's all here in this book. I would have been at said party myself, but my invitation got lost in the post, along with my Brits and Oscar invitations. Bloomin' Royal Mail.

IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE

Tags:
@ 03:29 AM (18 months, 19 days ago)

February is one of Ms. New Beauty’s favorite month’s. Only in February does she get to celebrated her anniversary, her birthday, the history of her people, and love all at once.

She’s already celebrated the first three, but unfortunately, she’ll be on her own with the last one. That’s right, MNB will be all alone on Valentine’s Day. Such is the life of a woman in a long distance relationship. But, she will be alright. Instead of wallowing in her loneliness at home, she’s going on a date with some of the loves of her life – her girlfriends. They’re going to eat fattening desserts, watching girly movies, and celebrate one of the greatest loves of all, true friendship. But for you ladies that will be celebrating the day of love with a significant other, MNB has found some of the best Valentine’s date perfect products.

100% Pure Chocolate Mocha Body Scrub

What Valentine’s beauty post could be complete without a mention of chocolate? Not this one. Soften up your body and eliminate any dry patches (dead skin is so not sexy) before the big day with this decadent body scrub. This rich scrub is made with Belgian dark chocolate, a rich source of antioxidants, cocoa butter and moisturizing grapeseed oil. A touch of Hawaiian Kona coffee increases circulation and caffeine is known to tighten any “loose” spots. Soften up and get sexy for your man. And enjoy this chocolate guilt-free because it will not end up on your hips in the morning.$18, available at Bath & Body Works.

Kitty Lixx Lava Lotion Body Candle Massage Oil

Most adult product lines offer very few items that wouldn’t embarrass you in front of your mother if you accidentally forgot to put them away. But, Kitty Lixx has struck gold in this ingenious candle. It’s perfect for a romantic evening at home. Burn the candle for great mood lighting and to scent your room. And, then blow out the flame and use the melted wax as a massage oil. Be forewarned, just a little of the melted wax goes a long way so use sparingly. Don’t ask me how I now. This candle comes in three scents, Vanilla, Strawberry and Jasmine, for $17.99. Available at KittyLixx.com. (Note – the Kitty Lixx website is probably not safe for work)

Lush Joy of Jelly Shower Jelly

Lush is one of the most innovative cosmetic companies around. And, I have been head over heels in love with their shower jellies since I first stepped foot into their store. These jellies are all natural and made by hand. The Joy of Jelly is their sexiest scent, combining notes of musky jasmine, ylang ylang, rose, and tiger lilly. But the best part isn’t the scent, it’s how you use it. Instead of just squeezing onto a loofah (how boring), you rub a hunk of the jelly all over your body to produce a fragrant and luscious lather. This will make for tons of fun in a shower for two. Get your man dirty and then clean him up. And let him return the favor.$5.45 for a 3.5 oz hunk of jelly, available at Lush.com.

Healing Garden zzzTherapy Pillow Spray

Before you lay yourself down to “sleep,” make your bed more welcoming with this pillow spray. Spray in the air above your bed and let the light scent of vanilla bean, chamomile, and orange blossom fall into your linens. Don’t let the name fool you, this scent is perfect for creating a very awake sensual mood in your bedroom. And, this is just one product from a great line. The Healing Garden is one of the best drugstore brands available. Their body splashes and sprays are strong enough to last all day and use fragrance notes that smell just as good as expensive perfumes.$6.99, available at drug stores. This post has been for those couple perfect products. But single New Beauties need not worry, a special Valentine’s Day post just for the unattached is forthcoming.Share the love ladies, and look fabulous while doing it, but don’t forget that Ms. New Beauty told you!

AF1 25 YEARS: RICKEY KIM (EVIL MONITO/RIOTTT/SOCIAL TRUST)

Tags:
@ 03:26 PM (18 months, 27 days ago)

Mr. Kim – Founder / Editor-in-Chief / Creative Director of Evil Monito, Co-Founder of The Social Trust, Creative Director of Riottt.com, Professional Blogger for mrkimsays.com, and all around non-sleeper… All that, and he still has time to bring us some of the best restaurant reviews on the net! Rickey.. What do you think?

Whats your favourite pair ever(or top 3 for those of you with AF1 addictions)?

Meth x EM Joints Easter Patents Whites

Theres been so many versions/colourways/colaborations of this shoe, how does it still manage to be the most popular shoe in this culture? Beyond the shoe’s aesthetics, I think the lore of what the shoe represents is why it has lasted so long. It’s a classic silhouette and its cultural significance for introducing the concept of AIR was what made this shoe something so groundbreaking. AIR is an intangible element and for a company to brand AIR is genius.

Nike AF1 25th Anniversary or Adidas Superstar 35th Anniversary?

I liked the product range of what Adidas did. Nike does their thing well as well. Both companies are distinct in how they approach presentation and product. Both companies have storied product that have cultural significance.

If you could design a pair right now, what would they be? Colours, low, high or mid, fabrics etc?

Lows, white gortex upper, carbon fiber midsole.

What do you think about the hype Nike have played on this event to this date, we’re only 3 weeks into 07 and it’s all we’ve heard about all year!?

I went to the AF1 event in NYC a few weeks ago and I was blown away. If there is one thing that Nike does well is ceremonial presentation. They do an amazing job. For the amount of people they flew in and the ability to create a public forum is commendable. Creating products that come from collaboration between an artist and designer is great, but to extend a platform to gather creatives together at the expense of the corporate dime is why Nike is groundbreaking. Nike connects people and allows the creative dialogue to be exchanged.

Have you any thoughts on the cultural impact the AF1 has made?

For a shoe that has not changed its design in the past 25 years is amazing. The AF1 is a classic shoe that touches facets of athletics, hip hop culture, and city life. And judging from how many shoe companies have based their silhouettes from the AF1, it’s indicative that the shoe embodies major cultural impact. It’s almost as if by “borrowing” elements of the design, other shoes companies are trying to inject the lore in their hybrid products.

Any thoughts on the impact this years anniversary celebrations will have on our already broadening culture and industry?

I thought last year, we had all reached the tail end of the shoe connoisseur craze, however looking at the AF1 25th campaign, it’s almost as if we’re being introduced to a brand new shoe. It’s refreshing and genuine.

In the name of the AF1 have you got anything else to say?

I’m thankful that now I can afford a new pair of kicks. No more hand me downs creased and dirty….I guess this is also why I have damn too many shoes. It’s my therapy….Ok I digress.

"EXERCISE IN STYLE AND COMFORT"

Tags:
@ 08:24 AM (18 months, 28 days ago)

Our work-out clothes are an aspect of our wardrobe that we often neglect, but you should look and feel fabulous while exercising. While few people feel their best wearing lycra from head to toe, substituting worn, stained and stretched t-shirts is not the answer. Cotton is a bad idea – it holds water while you sweat in temperatures that are cooler than your body temperature. You need clothing that keeps you dry when you perspire. The answer is to invest in the proper gear from authentic sports brands, and to wear it when you work out. Here are a few ideas to help you feel better in your workout clothes:

Longer length tops – wear a longer top when you wear lycra from head-to-toe. Cycling shops specialize in these and you won’t have that dreaded draft up your back while you’re touching your toes. Layer – pop a shorter sleeveless lycra or spandex blend top over your longer length one. The interest of the extra layer is slimming. Half lycra and half not – if you still feel that you can’t sport the all-lycra-look, go half way. Wear a tank top and sports bra with baggy running shorts or athletic bottoms; or a sporty form-fitting t-shirt (layer if you need to) with lycra or yoga pants.

Try and get your mind around feeling self conscious in your exercise clothes. Good for you that you’re getting your bottom into gear! Being healthy definitely increases your style quotient.

URBAN OUTFITTERS SS07

I used to LOVE Urban Outfitters. I’d go there everytime I go downtown, just in case I missed something the last time I went or something I had my eye on was on sale. But now I find myself going to UO less and less. I don’t even have their online catalog memorized anymore! So I thought I’d pick a few to analyze- and no I did not delibrately pick ones that I thought were hideous.

I think I would’ve found these two camis pretty. They’re feminine and pretty. But I just don’t see it fitting very well into my current wardrobe!

More cutesy camis that would be good for mix and match. But now that I know UO better, I can tell from here that the quality of these are probably not too good and may potentially look cheap. So is it still worth almost $30? Moreover, is this really the look we’re looking for?

Cool bold tees. I guess these are alright for casual wear. I rather like the grey one actually, a decent attempt at the oversized tshirt thing.

Jackets! I have mixed feelings. I like the way the striped one looks on the model, but with the thin material and all, would it look chic or cheap on us normal mortals? But I DO like that cropped jacket on the right. Although I’m not sure if its worth $48, if I can get a better one by waiting a bit and paying a tiny bit more. . .

Classics. Am loving the simple design. Although again, the material? Not so sure.

More classic bottoms. I rather like the style of these flare skirt and wide legged denims. Although beware the skirt is probably made of a flimsier material than you think.

An example of getting it right and wrong. The red one is soo off. But I think the one on the right is . . well right. Could potentially be cute and this season actually!

These two are pretty, but waaay too bohemian chic for me.

So what do you think? Is it just me? Am I growing out of Urban Outfitters or are their designs too bohemian and off for the current season?
